Award-Winning Skidmore Pianist

Your hometown orchestra proudly features highly talented local musicians. That includes artists born or resident in the Capital Region, as well as exceptional students at our many educational institutions.

On Sunday, January 10, 2016, the Schenectady Symphony Orchestra welcomes pianist Joseph Eisele, a music student at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs. He will perform with the orchestra as piano soloist in Liszt’s Piano Concerto No. 1, in E flat major.

A sophomore computer science major at Skidmore, Joseph Eisele received one of four Filene Music Scholarships and studies with Skidmore Professor Pola Baytelman. He began his piano studies as a preschooler in Denver, won numerous solo competitions, made his orchestral debut at age 9, was mentored for five years by University of Colorado faculty, and performed with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra’s 2012 New Year’s Eve Concert. He has won top honors and prizes in dozens of competitions.
