We have some great activities coming up in the months ahead!
Make sure to hold the dates for our two summer events, the Classical Breakfast at RiverStone Manor on Sunday morning, July 13, with performances by A Touch Of Woodwinds and sponsored again by Schenectady VanCurler Music and with the support of Price Chopper. This beautiful morning off music along the Mohawk River is a wonderful way to spend some time in the company of other classical music fans. Tickets are only $20.00 per person; reserve quickly – seating is limited.
Another delightful opportunity to celebrate the wealth of classical music here in the region comes Thursday August 21 at our Gala At SPAC with the Philadelphia Orchestra. The Philadelphia Orchestra under the direction of Maestro Stéphane Denève presents a magnificent evening of classical music: Berlioz’ Carnival Overture, Rossini’s William Tell Overture, Respighi’s Pines of Rome and Saint-Saëns’ Cello Concerto with soloist Alisa Weilerstein. According to New York Magazine, “At 26, she is arguably Yo-Yo Ma’s heiress apparent as sovereign of the American cello.” (2008) Tickets are $140.00 per person, which includes a $70 donation to the SSO. The evening includes a champagne reception and dinner at the Hall of Springs starting at 6:00 pm, as well as a ticket to the concert.
