Mark your calendars now for Beat Beethoven! our annual 5K Run/Walk, held Sunday morning, October 5, 2014 in Schenectady’s Central Park. This light-hearted but fleet-footed morning of fun and adventure begins as runners line up in front of the pavilion in Central Park, awaiting Maestro Schneider’s downbeat to some of the most recognizable opening notes of any classical piece: Beethoven’s mighty Fifth Symphony.
If you can reach the finish line before the end of the piece (running time roughly 30 minutes) you will receive a free ticket to the SSO’s opening concert on November 9.
Runners of all abilities welcome – if you’re new to the sport, there’s plenty of time to get ready using a Couch to 5K program.
Teams, prizes, and lots of fun await. See you in the park!
