The League of the Schenectady Symphony Orchestra held its 51st Annual Anthony Anthony P. Stefan Scholarship Awards. Auditions were held at the First Reformed Church in the Stockade. The competition is open to all local music students with awards going to students who demonstrate excellence in the area of musical performance.
The competition is open to high school students who reside in Schenectady or its surrounding areas, and who have achieved excellence in the performance of an orchestral instrument. Winners receive a monetary prize to be used to further their studies or purchase instruments. They are also invited to play at the annual SSO League Musicale to be held at the Jewish Community Center on May 22. The concert begins at 7 PM and is free and open to the public.
