Here’s this week’s Throwback Thursday Post – to October 2013 and our first year of Beat Beethoven!, a 5K run in Schenectady’s Central Park.
Runner’s World online recently did a story on some of the other Beat Beethoven! events held across the country. Here in Schenectady, our event is one of the very few 5K races that benefit an arts organization. Runners take off to the sound of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony (broadcast over WMHT-FM). Finish the course before the music ends and win a free ticket to the SSO’s opening concert – held this year on Sunday October 18. With age-group awards, team awards and Best T Shirt prizes, it’s a morning of fun for the whole family. This year we’ve added a Kids Fun Run so even our youngest fans can join in.
This year we hope to recruit 400 runners and a whole slew of new teams for our Third Annual Beat Beethven! on Sunday October 4 at 9:20 am in Central Park, Schenectady.
Registration is open now – only $20 until September 14. See you in the park!
