Our next concert broadcast will be this Sunday, April 18th, at 6 PM on WMHT Live.
Join Artistic Director Glen Cortese as he hosts a program from March of 2007.  For this concert, the Schenectady Symphony left Proctors and performed at the First United Methodist Church in Schenectady to use their magnificent organ for Poulenc’s “Concerto for Organ”.  The soloist is First United Methodist’s Dominic Giaquinto.  Also on the program, four pieces for Trumpet featuring then Principal Trumpet, Carleton Clay performing Gabrielli’s “Sonata for Trumpet”, Hovhannes “Prayer of St. Gregory”, Britten’s “Chaconne”, and Torelli’s “Sonata in D”.  Rounding out the program are Tchaikovsky’s “Serenade for Strings” and Hindemith’s “5 Pieces for String Orchestra”.
